Once a staple in the kitchens, dining rooms and front rooms of homes up and down the country – the dresser has seen a decline in usage over recent years, seen as an outdated and redundant piece of furniture. The storage solution of choice has often been something like a bookcase, or a shelving unit. Dressers have traditionally been best suited to a country style kitchen, something a little older, homelier in design.

Nowadays the dresser is making a comeback and its popularity continues to grow. Of course the old traditional styles – the farm house as a typical example – are still available, but there has been an increase of the production and availability of various styles which are more suited to a modern home. Through subtle changes such as the handling, usage of glass, and finish, we are now seeing a more varied style of dresser on the market.
